Available Therapies

I wonder whether you are aware of the countless values of holistic, or complementary, therapies. And after experiencing those values, when you look back on this moment maybe you'll wonder why you were ever sceptical that you will benefit from them. I'm not going to say that these therapies are right for you, because that's a decision you have to make for yourself!

You may already be aware of the amazing results you get when you decide to make different choices and maybe you can now allow yourself to think how you'll feel when you realise that even without all your perceived 'needs', you are actually okay...


Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

Serenity is an elusive place.  Inner peace, true inner peace, even more intangible.  The journey so many of us embark on to seek enlightenment, find our way back home or to find a 'solution' to our problems only highlights the frustration and pain of being in conflict with what is.  ACT gives us the opportunity to ascend the judgement of 'positive' and 'negative' thoughts, emotions and feelings and accept experience from a neutral perspective.

ACT does not attempt to change reality, but to encourage acceptance of the experience as it is, not as it is perceived, thereby enabling flexibility for a change of response.  ACT also does not attempt to directly change or stop 'unwanted' thoughts or feelings, but rather to develop a compassionate relationship with those experiences, helping to develop an understanding that all emotion is part of being human and all human emotion is part of life.

As children, and growing up, we were very rarely taught how to respond to 'negative' emotions and thoughts.  Most of the time we were told to develop a "stiff upper lip" or to "keep calm and carry on."  As a result, the painful emotion or thought controls us, or we try to control it.  If we make room for all our thoughts, emotions and feelings - positive and negative - give them space to do what they're already doing, then, with acceptance and not understanding, we may find that we are able to face our life in a new way and eventually find our way back home and find that inner peace, that serenity...


Therapeutic Hypnosis

Hypnosis is not some mystical procedure, but rather allows for therapeutic possibilities to help focus attention, gain a sense of detachment, a sense of timelessness and absorption in the experience. This also enables the art of acceptance, which in turn is a means of getting off the seemingly never-ending treadmill of striving for self-improvement and getting on a path of greater compassion, tolerance and patience toward the self and others.

Each individual has all the resources necessary for change already residing within. The hypnotherapist helps you awaken these latent potentials.


Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP)

Thought Field Therapy (TFT)

TFT simply consists of tapping on specific points on the upper body and hands. These points correspond with the classical Chinese acu-points recognised for thousands of years. The tapping of the meridian points has to be in a specific sequence, and (this is the clever part!) in exactly the same way as your pin number has to be correct in order to access your bank account at a cash point. By tapping in the necessary code, we appear to be supplying the mind with a 'delete' instruction for whatever generates the negative emotional response. Nothing else changes; memories and learnings remain the same - after successful treatment a person can have exactly the same thoughts and memories of the problem, but will no longer become upset. No longer having the negative program to run, the mind and body carry on as if nothing had happened!


Past Life Therapy (PLT)

PLT is the mental act of going back to an earlier time, whenever that time may be, in order to retrieve memories that may still be negatively influencing a present life. When we access and heal the past life, the situation in this life is free to improve. You don't have to believe in past lives to benefit from this process. Some people believe it is genetic memory that is accessed and others believe it is memories from the collective unconscious. Certainly, there is some convincing research that verifies the possibilities of past lives... and in the end it is everyone's personal decision.

Some people research their lives to gather evidence and have had stunning results. Many lives aren't researchable because they are too obscure or there's not always the ability to access the necessary details, such as dates and names of people, places and churches, etc. This does not detract from the therapeutic benefits. The benefits of past life therapy extend far beyond the clearing of symptoms. Often, the result is healing at all levels - physical, emotional, mental and spiritual.

 

Reiki & Rainbow Ray Healing (pronounced 'ray-key')

Reiki is the Japanese word for Universal Life Force. It is the vital life energy that flows through all living things. There is no secret to healing. Life energy is always around us and always available for our use, as long as we are open to receiving it.

Rainbow works with Reiki and brings through more healing power, enhancing treatments and accelerating healing and transformation. Reiki is the Earth elemental ray, whereas Rainbow is the elemental ray of Air, Fire and Water, which completes the healing system of Reiki. Each of these elements can heal in specific ways; Earth grounds and brings inner security, Air focuses the mind and enhances communication, Fire burns through negativity such as anger and resentment, and Water heals and balances the emotions. When combined, Reiki and Rainbow can help to heal in a deep and complete sense.

Reiki is a simple technique for transferring healing energy from a giver to a receiver and is not a faith system, but a healing journey deep within oneself - it seeks to balance the inner and outer worlds, to connect and to integrate. Healing is the reuniting of the body, mind and spirit. Sickness is your body's way of telling you that something isn't quite right. As you learn to respond to these messages early on, it is possible to change your course of action and start the healing process.



Chakra Cleansing & Balancing

Chakra cleansing and balancing is excellent for any imbalance on any level of being. The word 'chakra' comes from the Sanskrit meaning of 'wheel' or 'disk'. The chakra system outlines how, in order to maintain a healthy, balanced life, we must attend not just to certain physical dysfunctions that may occur, but to our emotional, mental and spiritual needs as well.


Space Cleansing

Space cleansing clears our homes, rooms and personal spaces of negative influences and fills them with harmonious vibrations. Space clearing can also sometimes be necessary when we move house or when we feel negative energies have seeped into our home or personal space from the outside world. Space clearing is also very effective for objects, such as jewellery and crystals that have absorbed other vibrations.


Indian Head Massage

Indian Head Massage has been practised in India for over a thousand years. It is a gentle, but firm and powerful treatment, combining massage and healing on the arms, shoulders, neck, scalp and face promoting stimulation and soothing relaxation. This treatment stimulates the lymphatic system - flushing out toxins and boosting the immune system. It boosts the blood circulation and helps to promote clear thinking. It relieves muscle tension and stretches and mobilises joints and tissue. It also relieves emotional tension - we carry the weight of the world on our shoulders. It relieves pain by stimulating the hormonal system which releases endorphins and serotonin (the body's natural pain-killer and mood controller). Most importantly, this treatment directly stimulates all other systems of the body. Combined with healing, energy is re-balanced throughout the entire body.

The Indian head massage is good for headaches, migraine, head colds, sinusitis, emotional tension, frozen shoulder, whiplash, arthritis, poor circulation, trapped nerves, muscular tension, alopecia, mini face-lift and is wonderful for relieving general tension.

 

Mindfulness, Guided Meditation & Relaxation

Being present in the moment with acceptance is more than just a practice; it is a key research-proven strategy that promotes health in the body, in the mind and in our relationships with one another, revealing a new way of well-being and joy. Mindful awareness helps us to see things just as they are - which is the essence of discerning wisdom - and not as we would like them to be: as they are, not as we are with our projections, imagination and interpretations. It is the open secret to living more fully and completely in the here and now, entirely present and accepting that all is exactly as is meant to be right now.

Relaxation is the body's natural antidote to stress and provides an opportunity for the body and mind to continually energise itself. Guided meditation harnesses the power of your mind and body for healing, enhancing self-esteem, relaxation, problem-solving, spiritual centering, peak performance, anger management and helps you to feel a greater control over reducing stress and directing your life in a more positive way.

In order to completely clear your mind of absolutely everything takes years of practise and even then can only be truly achieved by a few. Guided meditation gives your mind something to focus on whilst achieving that level of meditation where true healing and relaxation can occur. Mindfulness also teaches us not to be controlled by our thoughts, but to observe them with a new unattached curiosity.

As you can now see, a mindful guided meditation can be an experience that is not only relaxing, but one that enhances your sense of self, that transforms your perspective in positive ways, and that inspires you to live your life to the fullest.
